Here are some tips that I picked up on my most recent trip to Israel. 1) If you're going for at least a week, rather than staying in a hotel, consider renting an apartment. Weekly rates are usually better and can help save you money. Plus you get your own place. Sites such as www.janglo.net or www.craigslist.com are good places to find short term stays. 2) Although you can get almost everywhere on the buses in Israel, be prepared to spend a few hours to a whole day (depending on where you want to go). Since you only have a limited amount of time in the HOLY LAND, keep your eyes open for car deals. I saw recently that www.bestisraelcarsavings.com or www.israeltravelsavings.com had car rental deals. 3) Don't forget to put the camera down and experience the experience. Smell the smells, taste the tastes, see the sights, and hear the sounds. This is the HOLY LAND. 4) Don't be afraid to bargain. Expecially for cabs and little family owned shops. It's done a lot here and you can dramatically save yourself money. Hope these help you like it did for me. Happy travels. CMA
