So I am very committed to going to the Olympics in London. In fact I've already been saving up my money for the occasion. It would very much be a dream come true for me because I think this trip is very possible for me.
Anybody who lives in and around London or has a lot of experience traveling there: what advice do you have to offer in terms of accommodation? I am definitely planning to rent a flat outside the city because, to me, that makes the most sense in terms of money. For one thing it's cheaper than a hotel, but also I can cook because I don't want to have to dine out in London all three weeks of my trip!

O wow! If enough of us go, we should totally do a meet n' greet over there. I'll be staying with a friend though, also in the outskirts. (and Cam is coming too, right? RIGHT?). I expect hotel/hostel prices to be impossible. Renting out a flat is a great idea, and if you get more than one person it'd be cheaper as well. This website has some good bargains, I know friends who've used and swear by it: www.foxtons.co.uk/let/short-lets/o and remember, the best way to get a good deal is to book a place early!
