So I am taking my nieces to Las Vegas next month and needed to book plane tickets, car, hotel and a show.
You really need to use all the resources available.
I booked my plane ticket on Allegiant Airlines for less than $100 round trip.
Two nieces got booked on Southwest Airlines for $151 apiece and the third came from Florida and cost $220 on Expedia.
I just got the car off Hotwire for $12 for a midsized car.
I looked everywhere for Criss Angel tickets and found that the cheapest way was to actually call their own box office.
Oh and I got us a 2 bedroom condotel (full kitchen, living room, dining room, laundry, etc) for only $59 per night! It is right off the strip too!
The moral of this story is to look at all avenues for booking travel.

One thing I have learned is that renting a car from anywhere BESIDES the airport is the best option.
I flew into LAX a few years ago and took the hotel shuttle bus to the car rental facility inside the Hilton. This way, I was able to bypass the excessive recovery fees the airports tend to charge for car rentals.
In total, I saved at least $100!
