Hi guys! What's the deal with WIFI on planes? Furthermore, how can you tell which flights will have it BEFORE you book? Many of the sites I have checked only go so far as to say that the airline is capable. None really say which routes offer service.
How easy is it to access? How is the speed? Is it spendy?
Thanks all!

Unfortunately, the technology is so new that there is no way to tell which routes have the Wi-Fi yet.
American Airlines currently has Wi-Fi capability on all of their Boeing 767-300 series aircraft, a few of their McDonnell-Douglas MD-80 aircraft, and will start outfitting their Boeing 737 fleet in the near future.
American Airlines' 767 routes are generally coast-to-coast and trans-Atlantic flights.
343 of 528 domestically operating aircraft owned by Delta Airlines are outfitted with the technology. The outfitting of former Northwest Airlines aircraft will begin the week of January 17, 2010 at facilities bases in Tampa and Detroit.
Beyond that, I have limited information.
